Our newly promoted PPC Account Manager Adam Green gives us a glimpse into his day-to-day life, his thoughts on his job role and what it’s like working at Mabo.
Describe your role as PPC Account Manager.
In my role as a PPC Account Manager at Mabo I manage our clients Google Ads & Bing accounts on a day to day basis. My role involves creating & optimising campaign structures for our clients, developing strategy, formulating new ideas to take the account forward and communicating with our clients. All this contributes to our goal of getting the best performance possible for our clients accounts.
Please talk us through a typical working day for you at Mabo.
7.35am: Arrive at the office. Start off by eating my breakfast!
7:40am: Check my emails/tasks for the day and look over any new issues that have cropped up. Get started on my work for the day, which can range from researching new accounts, creating new campaigns, optimising bids & calls with clients to update them on their account.
8am: Have my first cup of tea of the day!
1pm: Lunchtime. Food usually followed by a few games of table tennis or dominating on FIFA.
1pm-4pm: Continue working on my tasks for the day, as well as taking time out to work on any ad-hoc tasks which come in during the day. Set out my list of tasks for the next day and make sure I am up to date before I leave the office!
What is the best thing about working at Mabo?
The atmosphere. We have such a great environment at Mabo and it helps you to thrive in your job. Everyone is available if you ever need a hand or some advice, because we are all working towards the same goal. Everyone is passionate about our work, and we always aim high for our clients, but we can have a laugh during the day.
What is the most challenging part of your role?
The industry is always changing. You can never really know everything in PPC, which is quite daunting at first. You need to be willing to learn always to become a successful account manager, we need to stay ahead of everyone else to get the best for our clients.
If you could give one piece of advice for someone who is looking for a role in PPC what would it be?
Dive In. I had no previous PPC experience before I started at Mabo, and I love it. It can be quite scary at first because the job involves so much and requires a lot of different skills. You just need to ask questions, and don’t be afraid to back yourself when trying something new.
