There really is no rest for Facebook, they are continuously updating their features to help you, as a business, maximise ad performance. Discussing ads, Facebook said “When an advertiser runs too many ads at once, each ad delivers less often. This means that fewer ads exit the learning phase, and more budget is spent before the delivery system can optimize performance.”
Therefore to reduce the budget and of course increase performance. Facebook have put a limit in place for how many ads a business page can run at any given time. The new regulations will work by four tiers of advertising categories being created.
Firstly, the ‘learning phase’ is the period within which Facebook’s ad system is ‘learning’ how to maximise ad performance, based on who your ad is shown to, how they respond, and how that aligns with your campaign goals. This phase begins as soon as a new ad is created. Like Google Ads, you need to run your Facebook ads for a period of time to see optimal results.
By running lots of ads at the same time, Facebook state that many promotions never get the chance. Wondering how they know that? Well, you have to give it to Facebook, they don’t state facts without backing it up. “We discovered that four in ten running ads fail to exit the learning phase, and many of these ads come from advertisers running too many ads at the same time. For this reason, we’re implementing a limit on the number of ads each page can run at once.”
Starting to worry about the limits? Don’t. The limits are pretty generous and can provide a huge advantage to you. Check them out below.
The new limits will come into effect from February 2021 (so don’t stress yet). Advertisers will be able to see when their ad limit will go into effect within Ads Manager.
Wondering why Facebook are limiting ad spend? It’s your money and if you want to spend it, they should probably let you .. although what is the point if you are going to get poor results? If Facebook can help provide better results then its a win-win for them, their partners and YOU as the one who is spending the extra cash.
