In preparation for the festive season, Google has revealed a new ad format available for retail and brand advertisers who offer shopping on third-party websites, via Google Search.
During the festive period, users tend to search for images before purchasing a product in a store. To capitalise on this, Google has introduced Shoppable Image ads.
The Shoppable Image ads are large units with a tag icon displayed in the corner. Clicking on the tag brings up a carousel of product listing ads displaying similar products to those shown in the image.
These results will be listed as ‘sponsored’ with a white shopping label displayed in the lower left corner.
