Exciting Opportunities For Talented Web Developers At Mabo.

Strictly no agencies.

As developers at Mabo, we take great pride in building technology that makes a difference – for our staff, for our business and for our clients. In a fast moving landscape, the need to innovate is ever-present.

We’d like you to join us in that innovation, as we embark on our biggest technical leap yet.

We’ve opened up two brand new roles in our close-knit development team, Platform and R&D. Over the course of the next 12 months, we’ll be working on creating new and expanding current internal platforms and developing a brand new client-facing service.

Platform Developer

As a Platform Developer, you’ll play a key role in developing a brand new service, working directly with our partner agencies and clients to build Mabo as a business and better our clients online.

We work with a range of technology and whilst we don’t expect you to be familiar with them all, here’s an idea of what you will be working with;

PHP (OOP),
MySQL,
CSS (and pre-processing)
Content Management Systems (such as WordPress),
JavaScript,
Git Version Control.

R&D Developer

As an R&D Developer, you’ll strive to continuously improve our business from within – through expanding current and building new platforms and automation tools. We’ve previously built Comparison Shopping Services, data management platforms and an intranet. Critical thinking is key as you explore new ideas and new ways to push the boundaries of our field.

As developers, the paths we’ve taken to become who we are, know what we know and do what we do may differ, but we share the same vision: to write code that makes a difference. With that in mind, we like to showcase how we make a difference, in different ways – it could be a GitHub profile, a previous project, documented CV or anything else.

We craft our best code when we’re happy, as part of our development team we’ll provide you;

  • Mix of remote working and from our Middlesbrough HQ (once our office re-opens),
  • Competitive salary (up to £30,000 DOE), with annual compensation review, and company pension,
  • A wide range of projects, with the opportunity to train with partners such as Google and Microsoft,
  • Dedicated hours for training and innovation,
  • An additional personal training budget each year,
  • An employee bonus scheme.

The role is 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday and currently based entirely remotely and will be a mix of remote and working from our Middlesbrough HQ, when our office reopens.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? If you’d like to apply or have any questions around the roles, please don’t hesitate to email me – Peter Calvert, Head of Development – at peter[at]mabo.co.uk, or use the form below.

If you’re an agency and have made this far, unfortunately we’re not looking to work with external recruiters, freelancers or outsourcing at this time.
